Teaching style and philosophy:

I approach tutoring through a strong belief in developing an academic relationship with students based on a trust and credibility on my part and a growing receptivity on theirs. In a sense, my style is quite direct in terms of making sure students are focussed more on the knowledge and skills to be attained that the medium by which we achieve that- so I focus on direct instruction of key concepts, guided reading, critical discussion, modelled writing and independent work set afterwards. 

I have a background in debating and public speaking. I am also a funeral and wedding celebrant as well as a freelance speechwriter for private clients.
