Teaching style and philosophy:
My goal is always to activate students as autonomous learners, so that their skills are transferable and enduring. Clarifying learning intentions and eliciting evidence of understanding and achievement so that progress can be measured and shared is integral to my planning. I believe that empathetic, honest and respectful communication is fundamental to successful tutoring relationships with both parents/carers as well as pupils. I opt to use imagination and creativity when personalising and designing learning resources for all my students.
Tutoring Approach & Methods
Emphasise critical thinking, close reading, and Socratic discussion to deepen understanding
Use structured lesson plans and targeted resources aligned with academic goals
Provide regular progress feedback to students and parents
Advance independent learning habits and exam confidence
