Teaching style and philosophy:

I'm a 22 year old English Lit graduate from London.

I'd say my philosophy, when it comes to teaching, is being aware that with so many demands on a 21st Century young person's attention, reading books and thinking critically have got to be exciting in order to compete. With this in mind, my teaching style is about investigating what a student finds interesting in a piece of writing, helping them to think critically on their own terms, and incorporating popular culture to help students engage with what they are studying.

I also take a practical view of exam preparation. Thinking about how to make work easy for an examiner to mark can often be just as important as the the answer itself!

By mixing together creative teaching with a straightforward approach to exams, I aim to provide really fulfilling sessions for students. If these are the kinds of sessions you are looking for, then please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Additional information:

I am based in South London, and am happy to travel anywhere in London. Online tutoring (via zoom) also works for me.

I am broadly interested in all the arts, including music and drama. At school and university I was consistently involved in theatre and performance, including 'Twelfth Night' on Shakespeare's Globe Theatre! I also write creatively, previously for my University's culture magazine and newspaper.

I have experience teaching practical lessons too- I am a watersports instructor at a sailing club in Suffolk. There I teach ages ranging from 6-16 RYA (Sailing) courses.

I am a current student at the University of Law (Bloomsbury), where I am training to be a solicitor. I have completed various work placements in commercial law firms & chambers.
