Teaching and tutoring experience

I have experience tutoring students at GCSE level in English Literature, English Language, Biology, and German. I currently work with several students in weekly one-to-one online sessions, supporting them with exam preparation, essay writing, and subject understanding. My lessons focus on building confidence with exam techniques, structuring written responses, and developing a deeper understanding of key concepts.

I also have experience supporting students with additional learning needs, including dyslexia, adapting lessons to be more visual, structured, and engaging. Alongside tutoring, my academic background in neuroscience has given me a strong understanding of how students learn and how to tailor teaching approaches to different learning styles.

Teaching style and philosophy

My teaching style is supportive, structured, and tailored to the individual student. I aim to create a calm environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing confidence in their abilities.

I focus strongly on understanding how each student learns best, adapting explanations and exercises accordingly. For exam-based subjects, I emphasise clear thinking, structured answers, and strong exam technique, helping students break down complex questions and communicate their ideas effectively.

I also believe that curiosity and engagement are key to learning, so I aim to make lessons interactive and encourage students to actively think through problems rather than simply memorising information.

Additional information

Alongside tutoring, I have a background in music production and performance, which has helped develop strong communication skills, creativity, and confidence when working with people. These skills translate well into teaching, particularly when helping students feel comfortable and engaged during lessons.

I am based in London and primarily teach online, though I am open to in-person tutoring within central and East London.

Outside of tutoring I enjoy fitness, reading, and keeping up with developments in psychology and neuroscience.
