We carefully select our tutors based on their qualifications, teaching experience, philosophy and passion for their subject.
Our tutors vary from current or former teachers and university lecturers to seasoned professionals and experienced graduates with years teaching in the tutoring sector. They are at the very core of the Pegasus community and we have a long- standing, trusting and supportive relationship with each of them. A selection of our tutors can be viewed below.
OUR TUTORS
An Oxford Theologian and qualified teacher, Freddie has spent the last 4 years teaching Years 5 and 6 in schools in London, as well as tutoring extensively in the UK and abroad, specialising in school entrance exams, English, Classics and Maths. He is also a children’s author with his book series “Tales From Troy”.
Ellie is an Oxford graduate and qualified secondary school Chemistry teacher, and has taught at James Allen’s Girl School since completing her PGCE in 2012. She specialises in teaching Chemistry to GCSE and A-Level, and was also appointed Oxbridge Coordinator, overseeing all Oxbridge applications.
Tom is currently teaching and conducting PhD research in Astrophysics at Imperial College, London, having completed his BA and Masters in Physics at Oxford. He is an experienced Physics and Maths tutor from 11+ to university undergraduate level, and is also currently testing prototypes for use at CERN.
Madeleine is studying for her PhD in Medical Imaging, at the interface of Chemistry, Biology, and Physics. She was an academic scholar at Cranleigh, a National Show Jumping Champion and has a First in Chemistry from Bristol. Madeleine runs a science podcast and organises events to communicate science to a wider audience.
James was Head Boy at Eton, before studying Economics & Management at Oxford, where he won an Academic Scholarship and First Class Honours degree. He specialises in Scholarship tuition to the UK’s top schools, having been awarded a King’s Scholarship to Eton himself.
Indigo received a First Class Honours degree from UCL in Natural Sciences (Physics and Maths streams). She is an experienced Maths and Science tutor for 11+, GCSE and A-Level, and also specialises in teaching students with dyslexia.
Buster has received the President’s Scholarship for Mathematics at Imperial College in London, having previously received A* grades in Maths, Further Maths and Physics at A-Level at Eton College. He is an experienced Maths and Physics tutor, teaching 11+, CE, GCSE, A-Level and undergraduate students.
Emily is an Oxford qualified doctor and is now in her second year training as a barrister. She has extensive experience teaching Science and Maths to GCSE and A-Level students, as well as 11+ entrance having been top scholar at Wycombe Abbey. She is a fun, engaging and dedicated tutor.
Hugo received the 5th highest score at Oxford for his undergraduate degree in History, followed by the 5th highest Masters score. He is a passionate and experienced tutor, specialising in History from GCSE to university as well as entrance exams to senior schools. His is also an Oxford Blue in football.
Nicola has a PhD in History from King’s College, London following her MPhil and MA in History of Art from Oxford and Cambridge respectively. She is currently a lecturer at the University of Reading and Imperial College, London and specialises in History tuition from Common Entrance to university level.
Alastair is currently training as an RAF pilot with the aim to progress to join NASA as an astronaut. He has a Masters in Engineering from Oxford, having received A* grades in Maths, Further Maths and Physics at A-Level. He specialises in tutoring Maths to A-Level and Science and Engineering to undergraduates.
Kim specialises in French, Maths and Physics tutoring, having studied at the Lycée Denis-de-Rougement followed by Westminster University. She has extensive experience preparing students for GCSE examinations both in the UK and abroad, as well as 11+ entrance exams to independent schools in London.
Dan was Head Boy at Harrow before going to Oxford to study Classics. He has extensive experience working with students from Year 6 to A-Level and specialising in Latin, Greek and English. He has also prepared students for entrance exams to Harrow, Wellington, Radley, Marlborough and Eton.
Meera is a Mathematics graduate from Bath University, and has experience tutoring Mathematics at A-Level. She covers all Core, Mechanics and Statistics modules for Single Maths A-Level, and all Further Pure, Mechanics and Statistics modules for Further Maths A-Level. She is also a dance artist and teacher.
Luke studied Archaeology and Anthropology at Oxford having achieved A* grades in Economics, History and Politics, as well as A grades in Anthropology and Art at A-Level. He specialises in teaching Anthropology to university students, Economics at A-Level, as well as preparing students for 7+, 8+ and 11+ exams.
Matilda studied History and Politics at Oxford before completing her Master’s in Culture, Criticism and Curation in London. She has experience teaching History and Politics to various students at A-Level, as well as Mathematics and Sciences to younger students, ranging from 6 to 13 years old.
Ferdinand is a highly decorated linguist, having achieved Distinctions in his Pre Us in Italian, Spanish and French at Eton before going on to study Italian and Spanish at Oxford. He has extensive experience teaching Modern Languages to students in the UK and abroad, as well preparing students for Oxbridge applications.
Mel studied History at Oxford, having achieved A* grades in English Literature, History and Religious Studies at A-Level. She specialises in teaching English and History at GCSE and A-Level, and has also worked as a tutorial group leader and mock interviewer for Oxbridge Applications, London.
With 3 A*s and 2 As at A-Level, a First Class Honours degree from Oxford in English with Distinction in Spoken French, and a Master’s in Development Studies from UCL, Chesney has extensive knowledge and experience in tutoring History, English, and French to students from 11+ to A-Level.
Raffi has undertaken private tutoring to A-Level students within his previous high school in Mathematics and Economics. Furthermore, he has taught Mathematics and Economics to students within the lower years to him at UCL during term time.
Arthur received a First Class Honours degree in Geography from Oxford, having achieved an A* in Geography and an A in Maths and Economics at A-Level. He has extensive experience tutoring Geography at Common Entrance, GCSE and A-Level, and has taught at the Oxford Royale Academy preparing students for Oxbridge applications.
Donal is currently employed at The Independent School, London, where he teaches Humanities, namely History, Geography and Citizenship. He is also a dyslexia specialist teacher and works specifically with pupils with particular learning needs.
As a high school student, Sheela achieved a 1590 on the SAT (pre-2005, when the highest possible score was 1600, not 2200). Her score breakdown was 800 in Verbal and 790 in Math. Sheela has also scored highly on SAT II Writing (800 out of 800) and SAT II Biology (790 out of 800).
George has taught on numerous Summer Schools over the past few years, tutoring students of various ages in Geography, English and Maths. He specialises in preparing students for Geography applications to Oxbridge, and has tutored a number of successful applicants in recent years.
Louise is experienced in teaching English as a second language. She has worked with students ranging from seven years old to adult learners, and from complete beginners to near-fluent speakers. Most recently, Louise has worked with a twelve-year-old and thirteen-year-old who attended a French-language school, but wanted to change to a prestigious British school.
Ashley was an academic scholar at Winchester College before going on to study English at Cambridge University, followed by the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He has been tutoring for several years and has extensive experience preparing students for 11+ and ISEB tests to the UK’s top senior schools, as well as scholarship and Common Entrance students at 13+. Ashley is an acclaimed opera singer with the Royal Opera House, English National Opera and Glyndebourne.
With an A* in English at A Level and an English degree from Bristol, Amber focuses on preparing students for 13+ exams in English and RS. She also specialises in teaching younger years students, having achieved a Distinction in her Master's in Psychoanalytic Studies and child development.
For the past 18 months Sholto has been tutoring extensively in Oxford. He has taught students from 11+ to degree level, and specialises in Sciences and Mathematics.
