Teaching and tutoring experience
Donal is currently employed at The Independent School, London, where he teaches Humanities, namely History, Geography and Citizenship. He is also a dyslexia specialist teacher and works specifically with pupils with particular learning needs such as dyslexia and dyspraxia. Previous to this, he worked in Rathmore Grammar School, teaching Religious Studies to A level, where his pupils consistently achieved high grades. In the academic year 2012/2013, all of Donal’s pupils at GCSE level achieved grades A*- C and grades A - B at A level. Furthermore, one of his pupils at A level achieved the highest grade in Religious Studies in Northern Ireland. In addition, he has worked as a dyslexia specialist tutor at Ulster University, working with students on essay writing, research methods and study skills. Donal has also worked as a tutor, teaching children 11+ preparation, KS3 English and GCSE English.
Donal has worked as teacher for 12 years, graduating in 2004. He has taught in a range of schools, starting his career in Greenacre School, Kent, where he was appointed Head of RE Department. His interest lies in helping learners with barriers to learning achieve their full potential.
Donal also specialises in essay writing and study skills to learners with dyslexia.
