Teaching and tutoring experience
Louise is experienced in teaching English as a second language. She has worked with students ranging from seven years old to adult learners, and from complete beginners to near-fluent speakers. Most recently, Louise has worked with a twelve-year-old and thirteen-year-old who attended a French-language school, but wanted to change to a prestigious British school. As their level of English was already high, they focused on the subtle differences between French and English grammar and phrasing which make all the difference in advanced language work. Louise is therefore accustomed to working to a very high standard. Having learnt fluent Italian and French herself, she has a strong understanding of the technicalities of grammar, which enables her students to advance quickly. A summary of Louise’s other experience is outlined below:
English tuition to an eleven-year-old, specifically preparation for competitive senior schools (October 2017-present)
Oxbridge applications mentor to a seventeen-year-old (application season, 2017)
French tuition to a seven-year-old (three months, 2017)
English tuition to a ten-year-old (four months, 2015)
Additional information
Louise has also worked as a nanny to a family with a seven-year-old and ten-year-old, so feels particularly experienced with this age group.
Last year, Louise worked on two full-day Oxbridge interview preparation courses.
